We wanted a name that felt timeless, elegant, and full of warmth.

As we were tossing around name ideas, several people suggested we call her Bell because of my maiden name. The more we thought about it, the more we loved the connection, and before long we realized Isabella was the perfect fit. We liked the idea of giving her a longer, classic name with multiple nickname options to choose from throughout her life. Bella felt like the perfect everyday version while also carrying a subtle tie to the Bell family.

Her middle name, Josephine, was chosen to honor the women in Ben's family. Her Great Great Grandmother's name was Josephine. Grandma Kathi's middle name is Jo, and Aunt Kristen shares the same middle name. We loved the idea of carrying that family connection forward while choosing a name that beautifully complements Isabella.

One of the things we love most about her name is how many nicknames it lends itself to. Some of our favorites include Bella, Izzy Isla, Ella, and Ellie, but we can't wait to see where she lands.
